Student Case Studies

All of our young people are inspirational. Preparing for adult life is a key driver of our curriculum and for some of our students, an element of this work focuses on securing potential employment in the future. In this section please find case studies of former students that have entered a range of working opportunities since leaving MGC.

Kieran began his employment journey at MGC. Through our Next Steps evening, he was introduced to the  opportunities at Team Domenica that would allow him to continue this work. We are so proud of how he is doing now!

Former student Zainab, who left Manor Green in 2016 has this year started her Forensic Psychology degree at the prestigious Edinburgh University. At MGC Zainab played a very active role in the student council and was once invited to the Houses of Parliament as a follow up to her letter promoting accessibility.

Her grounding and development at MGC lead to a successful period at Crawley College, before moving on to University. Zainab is a fantastic inspiration to all at the College and we are looking forward to hearing Zainab tell her story at our job club in the town centre this year!

Michael left Manor Green 3 years ago. Whilst in Year 11, he completed a Work Experience placement at a busy local garden centre. After the success of this placement, Michael was offered some part time work and is still there today! Michael's role has lots of variation including building new displays, stocking and restocking items, general maintenance and cashier responsibilities. Michael loves working at the garden centre and believes it has allowed him to become really independent. Well done Michael- keep up the good work!
