Parent Support

Each term we offer Parent workshops on key themes and issues that our young people and families may find challenging. Please find the link below to our latest Parent Workshop on Sleep, in conjunction with Thoughtful Services.

  • West Sussex Parent Carer Forum - https://westsussex.local-offer.org/services/195  An independent charity led by parent carers; we represent parent/carer views to various organisations and professional bodies to improve county/health/social care services for disabled children, young people and their families.  Becoming a member is free and we provide access to workshops, information events and a regular email bulletin filled with information on events countywide and lots more. The Forum works in partnership with Carers Support West Sussex on a grant to support health and wellbeing of parent carers. Parent Carer Grants (also known as the Carer Wellbeing Fund) are funded from Local Authority Short Breaks and NHS money. Parents complete an application form and a monthly panel of parent carers and Carers Support make the awards.   • Reaching Families – a parent-carer led, grassroots charity which aims to support parents and families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in their daily lives, through the delivery of information, training and peer support. They work with over 2,000 west Sussex family every year through a range of high-quality projects and services. http://www.reachingfamilies.org.uk  
 
  • Carers Support West Sussex – Run support Groups, a Carer Response line, help carers access equipment to assist them in their caring role or provide funds so that carers can do something for themselves. They can also help carers access counselling and call back services.  https://www.carerssupport.org.uk  
 
  • Aspens 30 minute free 1-1 appointment but can attended more than once. Family Support Clinics If you prefer to speak to someone face to face, book an virtual appointment at one of our family support clinics. Chichester, Angmering, Shoreham, Crawley, East Grinstead, Tunbridge Wells. We have family support advisors and engagement officers ready to address your individual needs.
